La historia del travieso elfo de Navidad
Cada diciembre, las casas y los corazones se llenan de magia navideña, y una de las tradiciones más curiosas que ha ganado popularidad en los últimos años es la del elfo travieso de Navidad, conocido en inglés como The Elf on the Shelf. Este simpático personaje tiene la misión de observar y reportar las buenas y malas acciones de los niños al mismísimo Santa Claus. Pero, ¿de dónde viene esta tradición y por qué se ha vuelto tan popular?
El origen del elfo travieso
La historia del elfo navideño tiene sus raíces en el libro infantil The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition, publicado en 2005 por Carol Aebersold y su hija Chanda Bell. El libro narra la llegada de un elfo enviado por Santa Claus para vigilar el comportamiento de los niños durante la temporada navideña. Cada noche, el elfo regresa al Polo Norte para reportar sus observaciones y, al amanecer, reaparece en un lugar diferente de la casa, creando la ilusión de que está vivo y moviéndose.
Lo que hace tan especial a este elfo es su inclinación por las travesuras. Muchas familias lo colocan en situaciones graciosas o alocadas cada mañana, lo que se convierte en una actividad emocionante tanto para los niños como para los adultos.
